It is that time of year again when we welcome new children into our class and start our learning journey together.

This half terms enquiry question is “What is Shakespeare’s legacy?” To help us understand Shakespeare and what his work was about we have decided to study the famous book ‘Macbeth’. Today we used inference and deductive skills to read the first introductory paragraph and familiarise ourselves with Shakespeare’s language. We then worked collectively as a team to read Shakespeare’s original version

The year 5’s are so excited to be growing Rocket seeds which have been up in space with the amazing Tim Peake! We received our seeds and quickly planted them following the experiment instructions.

Year 5 are excited about their topic which has a ‘space theme’ this term. As you can see our reading corner is now an escape to outer space and already children have begun to gather ideas and show case their work.

Today we we were amazed by Tim Peake and his live stream through the #cosmicclassroom. All pupils participated in the ‘experiment’ and enjoyed watching the water bubbles in space.

Anti Bullying Week

Collaboration to design our Anti Bullying canvas which are now on display in the shared area for all the school to see. We have pledged not to be bystanders but that ‘we are the change!’ Well done Year 5!IMG_0596IMG_0597

 

Anti Bullying Week 2015

During Anti Bullying week 5D have each designed an anti bullying canvas to display in the shared areas of the school and to celebrate Friendship Friday they made friendship bracelets. You will notice that some children wanted to design them in the colours of Paris in memory of those who lost their lives. Amazing perseverance was shown and children collaborated and showed amazing empathy when others needed help. Well done year 5!!
